Greenblatt attacks Hamas via Arabic-language tweets
BETHLEHEM (Ma'an) -- The United States' Middle East Peace Envoy, Jason Greenblatt, attacked the Hamas movement via his official page on Twitter, saying that the movement is responsible for polluting the besieged Gaza Strip's seawater.
Greenblatt tweeted in both the English and Arabic language accusing Hamas of spending money on "terror" instead of treating sewage water, saying that "no money to pay for sewage treatment or electricity because Hamas spends Palestinians' money on terror instead."
He also said "at peace with its neighbors, Gaza could be a tourist destination on par with Sharm el Sheik and Tel Aviv. With Hamas leading, the sea that could offer resort conditions is foul smelling and dangerous because of raw sewage …"
Greenblatt's tweets against the Hamas movement did not mention how the Gaza Strip has been under blockade by the Israeli government for more than 11 years; "in the meantime, the people of Gaza have little electricity, high unemployment, & continue to suffer. Hamas continues to divert desperately needed money & resources from the Palestinians of Gaza."
